Automated visual inspection of assembled valves

The Kawasaki RS010L robot performs an inspection of the color and shape of assembled multi-control valves using a vision system. A camera with two light sources is used to check assembled plastic and metal plugs, as well as engraved markings on the surface. Each valve is rotated one right angle at a time so that all 4 surfaces are fully inspected. Any defective valves are flagged with an error message on a display and rejected.
